Why We Started Suan

We started Suan because the usual options were letting people down. Foam earplugs get thrown out after a night or two. Cheap silicone sets either don't block enough noise or dig in if you sleep on your side. Neither actually solved the problem: too much noise, not enough control over it.

The name comes from the Irish word suan, meaning restful sleep. That's the whole idea behind the brand: a small, well-made product that does one job properly.

How Suan Earplugs Are Made

Every pair is built around three things:

Real noise reduction. Enough to quiet traffic, snoring, or a noisy housemate, without cutting you off completely from your surroundings.

Our Approach

We're a small, independent Irish business, not a large manufacturer with a catalogue of hundreds of products. That's deliberate. Staying small means we can put the budget into better silicone and a better fit instead of spreading it across dozens of SKUs.

We also make reusable, washable earplugs rather than single-use foam. It's a better experience for the person wearing them and it means a lot less waste ending up in landfill.
